Adobe today announced the launch of Generative Fill, a new AI-powered feature for Photoshop that allows users to non-destructively add, extend, or remove content from images. Generative Fill is powered by Adobe’s Firefly AI platform, and it uses machine learning to understand the context of an image and generate realistic new content.
To use Generative Fill, users simply select an area of an image and type in a text prompt describing the content they want to add. For example, if you want to add a deer to an image of a forest, you could type in “deer in forest.” Generative Fill will then use AI to generate a new deer that is seamlessly integrated into the image.
Generative Fill is still under development, but it has the potential to revolutionize the way that people create and edit images. It can be used to quickly and easily add new elements to images, or to remove unwanted objects. It can also be used to create realistic composites of multiple images.
Generative Fill is available now in the beta version of Photoshop. It will be released to the general public in the second half of 2023.
